Argh.

I just got off the phone from speaking to someone at my housing association's customer services. I was left waiting around for six hours yesterday while a plumber didn't come, and I had no-one call me. The guy I spoke to at customer services was rude and hard to hear (he was quiet and dindn't enunciate clearly). I had to ask him for an apology and my was he grudging. Now I shall be waiting around from 12 to 5pm and they'd better show up this time.

I think I'd better shower before they come, I'm really grubby.

I'm still happy overall though.

Annoying admin stuff:

Ok, what order do I do this in?

My NHS medical card has come through (I've just changed doctor's). It has my old name on it, cos the primary care trust are twits.

There's a bit that says 'name and address if different from above,' and I've written in my current legal name. Do I just leave it at that and get doctor to fill in the relevant section and they'll have my correct details? How do I know if they're going to actually do it this time? Maybe I should phone the PCT and ask them. It really is a pain in the arse, I have already written to them (enclosing proof of my change of name) and it didn't make any difference.

I'm nervous about all of the steps to this. Contacting the PCT, getting my GP to fill the card in, sending it off. I've been procrastinating about it for a while.

Edit: I just phoned the PCT, and the last time I spoke to them last year they gave me the wrong information. It is my GP that has to write to the PCT telling them of my name change, and writing to them with all of my details didn't make any difference. Pah. I'll try and get that sorted today once the boiler person has left.

Right, I'm going to try and budget for the rest of the fortnight (payday is 8th April). Budgeting on food will be easy, but from 1st April until I get my Freedom Pass sorted¹, I will have to pay for public transport journeys. I have no bike theft insurance, I don't want to take my bike out; I can walk though. Walking to Soho/Covent Garden/Fitzrovia and back ftw.

I'll get dressed now and go along to my doctor's with my medical card.

¹ I am awaiting a letter from my psychiatrist.

My boiler is playing up. It keeps going out, and then when it's lit it pumps out heat when it shouldn't be. Someone is fixing it as I type, so no waiting around today :-)
